A BIT ABOUT US
Dementia does not discriminate!
Suriname, like the rest of the world, suffers increasingly under the burden of dementia. The dementia problem in Suriname is made even more complex by local beliefs that dementia is Gods punishment, demonic possession or even worse: a normal part of aging. It is our goal to increase awareness of dementia, while educating and helping caregivers, people living with dementia as well as policy makers. It is our firm belief that this knowledge will empower people to seek help. Caregivers and those living with dementia shall receive the help and care they deserve.
